You can’t help but feel drained, down and depressed when you live a stressful life where you’re constantly racing against time, running around the city and stuck in traffic.
But I searched and studied the foods that contain the same chemicals in drugs like Prozac and cocaine, since I absolutely don’t condone drugs and other ‘happy’ stimulants. So make a list, go shopping and buy these foods that’ll make you happier, calmer, energized and healthier.
MUSSELS
Trace nutrients (elements required in minute quantities to your body for proper physical function) are present in Mussels.
Trace elements like Zinc, Selenium and Iodine are all crucial stabilizers of thyroid. You always have to make sure that your thyroid, main mood regulator of your body, is on the track and stable.
SPINACH
Phenylethylamine is present in spinach, is a name of a class of chemicals and an organic compound known as stimulant and psychoactive drugs.
Phenylethaylamine releases Norepinephrine and Dopamine, which are chemicals used as anti-depressants and stimulate rewarding, happy and pleasurable senses in ht e brain. When you get a pleasurable high from cocaine, Dopamine also the neurotransmitter released.
Spinach also contains large amount of magnesium, which throughout your body boost your energy.
ASPARAGUS
Serotonin is present in Asparagus, which is a ‘happy hormone’ that controls your sleep, mood and emotions. By taking Tryptophan, which can also be found in asparagus, these hormones can be processed.
EGGS
Eggs too contain Tryptophan, the happy hormones booster, and do more for you than just make you strong.
Choline is also present in eggs, which is a mandatory nutrient that aids in increasing your positive attitude and mental sharpness.
OILY FISH
To eat fish a couple of days a week is highly recommended, especially oily fish which contains high amount of Omega-3. The fatty acids excreted by these fish oils aid sin our brains’ stabilization. Omega-3 is also extremely healthy for your metabolism, skin and hair.
Oily fish include trout, salmon, mackerel, sardines and herring.
DARK CHOCOLATE
As compare to milk chocolate, dark chocolate is way healthier and also quiet delicious. It contains magnesium, an element that gives you positive energy by spreading through your body while reducing anxiety and relaxing your muscles. It reduces the possibility of depression, ultimately.
LEGUMES & NUTS
Legumes are way healthier than people think and they’re basically seeds, peas, beans and some nuts. They’re quite the energy boosters by distributing high amounts of magnesium.
You feel light, happily zen and energized when you work out and finally done and drained. Magnesium does all that work that gets excreted during sweat and is a crucial trace element in your body. They’re the trick, so stack up on these beans and seeds.
Most nuts like almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts are a rich source of Serotonin, our Happy Hormone. In Omega-3 oil, many of them are also high.
AVOCADO
Avocado also contains Serotonin, a feel-good neurotransmitter, like asparagus. Also for your hair, nails and skin, it is extremely healthy.
GREEK YOGURT
For the healthy gurus, Greek yogurt is a sacred food. Probiotics it contains is the main reason which benefits your immune and digestive system, and help boost your energy.
Opposite of antibiotics are the probiotics. To kill all bacteria and germs in your body you take antibiotics while probiotics are microorganisms (germs, microbes and bacteria) that like yeast in the yogurt are healthy when consume.
