Lady Gaga achieved her first Oscar nomination while she also won her first Golden Globe award just a week before.
Gaga won the Golden Globe award for acting in her debut film “American Horror Story: Hotel” while she got Oscar nomination for her music. For the category of “Best Original Song”, the singer and songwriter of “Til It Happens to You” achieved the nomination on Thursday.

“The Hunting Ground” is a documentary about rape crimes and sexual assault in college campuses all around USA while the song was written for that documentary.

Gaga dedicated the nomination to the survivors of rape while she herself is the victim. In a statement, she said that this nomination will help to get the voice for the rape victims and their families around the globe. She said that she is grateful for the Academy for nominating the song as it would help the recognition for people of the movement. She and Diane Warren feel so proud for this nomination.

Warren said that the song will echo the victims of sexual assault and would help the movement against rape while she and Gaga are grateful to the Academy for this nomination. Meanwhile, Warren has achieved seven nominations in this category.

Before this nomination, Gaga frankly told about her experience when she was raped at the age of 19. She said that she didn’t tell anyone about this incident for seven years. She could not think and accept this happen to her while the assault really changed her whole body and mind.

Apart from Lady Gaga, Leonardo Dicaprio is also present in the nomination which reminds us of their famous encounter during Golden Globes as DiCaprio made a funny face when Gaga was going to receive her award for “Best Actress” and this event became so famous that it literally “broke the internet”.

Later the two enjoyed the moment a lot during the CAA’s after party as they talked and laughed together.
