Celebuzz’s Guide to Will & Kate’s North American Visit

For the first time together, Prince William and Duchess Catherine Middleton are coming to North America! Kate has never been to our side of the pond before, so the trip should be quite an experience for her. The royal pair will be arriving in Canada on June 30 to spend a week touring the country before heading to Los Angeles for an action-packed Hollywood weekend.

Kate is reportedly bringing over 40 outfits (and her personal hairstylist) for the 11 day excursion. The Duchess also specifically requested that her personal stylist stay behind, as she is confident in choosing her own clothing for her public appearances and glitzy events.

We have a full breakdown of the trip’s events, as well as some more in-depth details about how Kate, Will and their entourage are preparing for the big visit.

July 2- This will be a busy day, as the couple travels to three major cities in one day. They will start in Ottawa, where they will attend a reception for war veterans, and then head to Montreal to visit the Saint-Justine Hospital and meet young cancer patients. Things get lighter after this, as William and Kate will participate in a cooking class at the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality. Once they are all cooked out, the couple will board the HMCS Montreal and set sail for Quebec on an overnight cruise.

July 3- During their first day in Quebec City, William and Kate will meet with a regiment just returning from Afghanistan, and they will attend a fair at the Citadel.

July 4- While we celebrate Independence Day here in the US, the royal couple will still be in Canada touring the Province House , followed by a dragon boat race and another barbecue reception. They will then depart for the coastal town of Summerside via helicopter to watch a search & rescue demonstration before heading out to Yellowknife, a small city in the far north of Canada.

July 5- While in Yellowknife William & Kate will be exposed to the traditions of aboriginal Canadians, and will take part in a ceremony celebrating their culture & music. They will take a sea plane ride to a nearby island before returning to Yellowknife for the night.

July 6- For the first time on the trip, there is no itinerary planned, as the royal pair will travel to Calgary and have the rest of the day to themselves.

July 7- The couple will visit another hospital, this time in Calgary, after which Prime Minister Harper will rejoin them and present the couple with a gift.

July 8- After spending the day at the Calgary Zoo, and attending a parade to mark the beginning of the Calgary stampede, the couple will leave Canada en route to Los Angeles!

July 9- In the most high profile event of the trip, William & Kate are hosting a polo tournament in Santa Barbara, CA, with the proceeds going toward Prince William and Prince Harry‘s charity foundation. The event is open to the public for $400, although VIP tickets with limited access to the royal couple start at $4,000 apiece. Hollywood royalty Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, and Sylvester Stallone are expected to be in attendance at the event. Before the tournament, the couple will tour the 36-acre polo facility in a top of the line Audi V6. The event is expected to raise in excess of $5 million for the charity. After the polo match, the royals head to downtown Los Angeles for a dinner at the famous Belasco Theater, given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

July 10- The couple takes things down a notch on the final day of their trip, where they will visit the Inner-City Arts School with provides youth arts training & education in Los Angeles’ poorest neighborhoods. They will then head to the Sony Studios in Culver City, CA, for a Service Nation: Mission Serve military job fair event. They will depart the US from LAX, heading back to their native Britain.

All in all the trip will last 11 days, with events in 7 different cities, and the couple will travel by boat, plane, seaplane and automobile to get from one destination to the next. While they will spend most of their time together, the pair may participate in some tours and walkabouts separately. William will be making a few speeches at different events, but Kate will not speak publicly during this trip.

We wish them the best on their first tour as a royal couple, and hope they come back soon and take in more of what the US has to offer!
