After the incident at GMA, Chris Brown went on BET’s 106 and Park and gave a big explanation about why he reacted so strongly to the questions about Rihanna and the restraining order she had issued against him. He said, “When we actually did this event everything was cool. We was suppose to perform, the talking points were positivity, creative, and everything that was sent to me, everything was about the album. So as the interview proceeded it was thrown off, and I was kind of thrown off by it. I felt like they told us this so that they can just get us on the show just to exploit me. That’s what I thought. And I took it very, very hard. I just kept my composure throughout the interview in full even if you can see me upset. I kept my cool and did my performance and when I got home, I unwind in the back … I just wanted to release the anger I had in me because I felt that I work so hard to make music. “The part about not knowing the questions would ask Robin Roberts goes against a statement she gave, which said it is the policy of ABC to let the interviewee know the questions they will be requested before the segment is recorded.
