The folks behind the upcoming flick, Winnie The Pooh, were looking for a nostalgic 60s feel for the soundtrack, so naturally they looked no further than Zooey Deschanel to lend her retro voice to three new songs for the adorable movie. Deschanel will put her own spin on the classic Winnie The Pooh theme — you know, “Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood where Christopher Robin plays…?” But she won’t just be doing covers, she and the other half of her celebrated indie band She & Him will also perform two songs called “A Very Important Thing to Do” and “So Long.” The second song is a tune that she wrote herself.

While I’m surprised that Disney went for such an indie girl when putting this soundtrack together I think it’s a smart choice. Deschanel treads that line between modernity and 60s flair that I think will benefit the cuddly flick and maybe even give us an adorable new song. Take a listen for yourself. It’s Disney-tastic, but it’s pretty darn cute.
