Chanel is a well reputed name in the fashion industry. Chanel and its artistic director, Karl Lagerfeld have been working in fashion industry since 1983. Chanel was brought up in orphanage and she set up her house in 1913 is surely the popular fashion designer of the 20th century. Chanel designed sportswear for high fashion, her small black dresses, her costume, jewelry, and suitable male outfits are the stock of fashion legend. Her Chanel no.5 perfume is a confirmed classic, her softly structured tweed suit and quilted leather handbags.

Chanel died in 1971 and left behind rich legacy of house codes which are reinvented by Karl Lagerfeld. Mademoiselle’s favorite pearls turns up, outsized, as little evening bags, tweed is converted into fluffy leggings and matching berets, outdoor life is expressed via Chanel-branded snowboards and surfboards. In July 2002, Wertheimer family, the owner of the company secured the future of its couture business by acquiring five specialist workshops comprising of Lesage, a well known embroidery company.

Chanel is today working as commercial juncture and it set up multi-floored new store in the Ginza shopping district of Tokyo in December 2004 consisting of a restaurant, Beige Tokyo and a glassy fitted with twinkling lights that shows familiarity with popular tweed. In May 2005 Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York organized an exhibition to dedicate Chanel’s historical innovations, specifications designed by the house of founder and its companions. It is brand which provides styles to follow life rather than stick to one or the other style or trend.
