Domenico Dolce was born in 1958 in Sicily, an island of Italy. His father was tailor from Palermo by profession who taught him to sew jacket when his age was only seven years old. Another Stefano Gabbana was born in 1962 and was the son of a Milanese print worker. Sicily was the home town of Dolce and favorite holiday celebration place for Gabbana. Both met there and became good friends of each other. Their collection which came for exhibition carried all Sicilian qualities, for women like traditional Sicilian girl wearing of opaque black stockings, black lace, peasant skirts and the Latin sex temptress like corsetry, high heels, underwear as outerwear and the Sicilian gangster.
