Alber Elbaz is new appearing and romantic fashion designer who is quite suitable for Lanvin, the Parisian fashion house where has been serving as artistic director since 2001. He has designed many remarkable designs for the brand including pleated silk clothes, satin ribbon details and costume jewelry are now most demanding item in fashion industry.

Elbaz was born in Casablanca, Morocco and spent his early life in the surrounding of Tel Aviv with his mother who was a Spanish artist. His father was an Israeli barber was died when he was young. He got education in Shenkar College of Textile Technology and Fashion at Tel Aviv and got his training in New York also. He spent seven years and worked with late Geoffrey Beene who was couturier to East Coast high society.

Elbaz got the appointment of head of ready-to-wear for Guy Laroche in Paris in 1996 where he spent three years. He joined with Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche in November 1998 as artistic director and took over the responsibilities of designing. During his period at YSL, Elbaz chose a young client Chloe Sevigny to wear his dress in the Oscars awards. In the beginning of 2000 large business intervened when Gucci Group handled the YSL Rive Gauche and Tom Ford was selected for working in place of Elbaz. After short and successful spell at Milanese brand Krizia and time out travelling the world, in October 2001 he came back to French fashion through Lanvin, a couture house whose foundations had been laid down by Jeanne Lanvin in the 1880s.

Lanvin made great progress under his direction and produced jewelry, footwear and handbag stocks. He created ultra-feminine cocktail clothes to show his talents that are the apex of Parisian touch. He also won the CFDA international award in 2005. Elbaz also use to wear bow ties.
