Philip Treacy has designed and manufactured feathered, fur-trimmed or velvety creations have its own excellence of hats. The harts designed by Treacy have glamour and prettiness. Top fashion models and fashion leaders including Franca Sozzani, Amanda Harlech and Isabella Blow use their hats in many events. These hats were made up of oversized orchids, fans of pheasant feathers, model ships and Andy Warhol style got much popularity in different group of masses.
He was born in Ahascragh, western Ireland in the year of 1967. His ambition for designing dresses began when he was only five years old and started designing clothes for his sister’s dolls. He got education of fashion in 1985 at Dublin’s National College of Art and Design and stated designing of hats as a hobby. After getting work experience at Stephen Jones, he started an MA female course at London’s Royal College of Art in 1988. He also started designing ditch clothing design and won the place on the college’s first ever millinery course.
In the year 1991 when his age was only 23 years, he picked working for hats for Chanel and during the same year he also won Accessory Designer prize for the first time at the British Fashion awards and he also won three accolades. During 1993 he exhibited his first ever fashion collection during London Fashion Week in which Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington showcased the hats during catwalk in return of free hats. Treacy established his first outlet in London’s Belgravia in 1994 and she was the first fashion designer who is invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in the year 2000 to display his masterpieces during Paris couture week.
Treacy also coordinated with some of the world’s top artist and fashion designers comprising of Alexander McQueen and Vanessa Beecroft and his expertise are also exhibited in museums like V&A, Design museum in London and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. He also stood victorious for the Chinese International Designer of the Year award in 2004 which was witnessed by 3005 the completion of first interior design project at the G, a five star hotel in Galway in Ireland.
