Valentino Garavani is one of the greatest Italian couturier and one of the most respected designers showing in Paris. Valentino is known simply by his first name like other famous fashion designers of the world. Many glamorous girls or female associated with showbiz take interest in his v-logo belts and sandal with beads. Valentino is also famous for show stopping evening dresses which are cut in lean, feminine lines with dramatic flourishes like ruffles, romantic and judicious use of his most delicate shade of bright red.

Valentino was born in Voghera, in the south of Milan in the year 1932. He was shifted to Paris at the age of only 17 and got admission in Chambre Syndicale de la Mode. He got training from Jean Desses and Guy Larochd in fashion designing. He came back to Italy in 1959 and set up his own atelier on Via Condotti in Central Rome. Elizabeth Taylor purchased costumes for her film ‘Spartacus’, some parts of the film were also shoot in the town and became his one of earliest clients.

He exhibited his first collection in 1963 which was appreciated by the majority of fashion world at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence and then he won award Neiman Marcus Award in 1967. This brand was also published in Time and Life magazines and then Jackie Kennedy selected Valentino to design her dresses in 1968 on her wedding with Aristotle Onassis.

He met with Giancarlo Giametti who was the architecture student in the last year of ‘60s. Giancarlo become the business mind of flourishing fashion house and in 1970 he designed ready to wear stock for both male and female also initiated.

These both persons sold the house to Italian conglomerate Holding di Partecipazioni Industriali and purchased their brand to Marzotto in 2003. During July 2005 Marzotto worked and produced Valentino Fashion Group which also worked as a separate publically traded company.

For many years the perfectly trained designer has provided latest and exclusive suits to the most fashionable women consisting of Princess Margaret, Marella Agnelli and Begum Aga Khan. This brand was went on top when Hollywood film actress Julia Roberts wore the exclusive black-and-white vintage Valentino dress of this fabulous brand to the Oscars in 2002. The Italian government has honored this exclusive brand by awarding the Cavaliere di Gran Croce in 1986 and France awarded its fabulous Chavelier de la Legion d’Honneur award in 2005.
