It is well known for his elegant dresses, flat shoes and exclusive bland of black color, Yohji Yamamoto is one of the most well known and impressive fashion designer busy in fashion industry today. The dresses prepared by Yamamoto displays the elegant style along with delicate attachment in his hands and mostly challenging modernity segues to their Parisian haute couture.

Yamamoto was born in Japan in 1943. His father was died on Second World War. His seamstress mother brought him up. Initially he got admission for studying law at Tokyo’s Keio University. After some time he joined Bunka School and learnt fashion designing by passing his graduation in 1969. Then he went to Paris and after returning from Paris, he set up his own brand to increase the sale of his mother’s shop in 1971. He exhibited his collection in 1977 in Tokyo. He exhibited his collection in Paris for the first time in 1981 with his girl friend, Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcens. Then his brand became popular in Japan.

Yamamoto displayed his collection by the models wearing while make up and clothing in black costumes and set up his look ‘Hiroshima look’. The younger generation liked collection of Yamamoto and his both stocks for female and male were exhibited in Paris for the first time in 1984 which symbolize the urban creative styles.

Althoough he has elite touch but Yamamoto extended his business. Now he has more than 333 retail shops throughout the world having coordination with Adidas, Y-3, five perfumes and normal stocks of dresses like Y’s for women which was established in 1973 and Y’s for Men established in 1971. His collection have been presented in various movies, books and exhibitions including Juste des Vetements, Yohji Yamamoto displayed his first ever solo exhibition which was taken place in 2005 at the Musee de la Mode in Paris. Yamamoto is a karate black belt and chief organizer of the Worldwide Karate Association.
