This is going to be the season of the Ten year Anniversary show in NYC along with Alexander Wang with the clique of designers, Riccardo Tisci and Phillip Lim join him, reflecting on a decade in business. The designer did not want to repeat the past, not openly, however asked himself what is new. He mentioned along with a collection of cool, dynamic, wonderful dresses which felt particulary relevant and real and finally unveiled the wisdom Wang has achieved over his lightning rod career.
In this collection they have included Jeans, Army jackets, sweatshirts, track pants and T-shirt. Wang expressed a breadth of individualism under its umbrella of street, sex, grit and sport. As well an oversize khaki trench over a silk and lace slipdress captured brooding intellectual romance is included I the collection.
Everything was intensely worked on via casual and accessible. The creation inspire came through the sense of craft and personalization, from the Army jacket trimmed in long black leather fringe to the oversize hooded sweatshirts emblazoned along with the world Oakland to the wonderful denim skirts and cutoffs which showed up lovingly DIY’d.
