With the Met Gala, a premiere for Girls may not be up there, but judging from the influencers on the red carpet and high turnout of NYC celebs, last night event of HBO was not to be missed. Not even in those subzero temps. And the focus of the evening was of course on the foursome with their first-name as: Shos, Jessa, Marnie and Hannah.
But Allison Williams, Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke also stole the spotlight before reuniting onscreen and as the roles they play on the screen, with outfits as different. From the spring ’14 collection, Dunham arrived in a seriously sparkly Rochas number, a far cry from mesh tanks and floral prints, while Williams wore a pastel, short, playful party frock from Dior. Meanwhile, Mamet opted for the most minimal of looks in a Saint Laurent LBD, whose character is neither afraid of fascinators nor bright shades. And finally, cream-colored gown of Kirke was a perfectly elegant and glamorous Geminola dress and that Lulu Frost jewels complement the artist perfectly.
While those will be waiting until next Sunday for the official HBO premiere, who’re not in attendance at the Lincoln Center party last night. On a bit of red-carpet eye candy, at least we can feast our peepers.
