Following poking its scrawny neck out of the bags in Fendi’s Fall show in Milan, the bird of paradise turned out the intense ruling motif regarding Resort 2016. It is not a passionate flower, such as the orchid which was Karl Lagerfeld’s last momentary fancy at Fendi. However its toughened beauty was the ideal expression look of the duality which makes this house Italy’s most charming. The bird of paradise has got points and edges which were nature’s complement to the collection’s architectural sternness.
