On October 3rd, the stage at the University of Mississippi was filled with elegance, poise, and powerful performances as students gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year — the Miss University 2025 Scholarship Competition. This prestigious event, now in its 76th year, crowned McKenzie Cox, a junior majoring in integrated marketing communications and public policy leadership, as the new Miss University.
Cox, hailing from Concord, North Carolina, captivated the judges and audience alike with her grace, confidence, and compelling stage presence. Along with the title, she was awarded a $5,000 scholarship, recognizing both her achievements and potential as a campus representative.
Joining her on stage were three other outstanding finalists. Celeste Lay was named first alternate and received a $1,000 scholarship, followed by Maddie Grace Lightsey, second alternate, earning a $500 scholarship, and Madison Belk, who secured the position of third alternate along with a $250 scholarship. Each of these remarkable women brought a unique energy to the event, showcasing the diverse talent and spirit present within the university community.
