During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in NYC on 8th Feb, Monique Lhuillier debuted her fall 2014 collection and it was clear that it would only be a matter of time before the gorgeous looks go from the runway to the red carpet, as soon as we got a glimpse of the intricate designs.

Signature feminine creations of Monique were adding structure to the effortless collection and juxtaposed with architectural details. The result is the bolder, stronger looks that both gave off a romantic vibe and oozed sexy elegance. As embroidered dresses and embellished creations came down the runway that incorporated delicate lace and illusion detailing, the ethereal vibe and intricate detailing that the designer is known for was still very visible. To create a bold, sexy look, the romantic vibe was met with new textures like leather, vinyl and mink.
For more contemporary lines this season, Capes have proved to be a popular trend and as Monique’s dresses incorporated capes – we’ve already seen stars rock capes on the red carpet – it continued in eveningwear. Fashion-forward newcomer Lupita N’yongo and Katy Perry both have shown off the silhouettes – and to see more stars, we’re bound.
