Shailene nowadays is starring in movie “The Fault in Our Stars” and is a Golden Globe-nominated actress. Though she’s glamorous in industry but in her personal like she’s living a very simple and natural life. The star puts happiness and health prior to every other thing through these few ways.

She leads an “alternative” lifestyle: she says that every month she brought her own spring water from mountains and achieves food through farm. She even makes everything for herself including toothpaste, face oils and body lotions. She added that she also makes her own cheese and medicines and like to have forage for food. She feels this good for her soul as an entire lifestyle. The other things she likes are organic farming and cleaning teeth through ayurvedic practice of oil pulling.

She stays active: the actress says she takes 5Rhythms dance class and does 15 to 45 minutes of yoga at night. She added she loves outdoor activities and love to bike, hike, jog, run, swim, run and any other thinks that is close to nature.

She resists the Hollywood lifestyle: she thinks that the people of industry made it difficult for themselves unnecessarily. It’s easier to be a happy person than not to be.

She doesn’t diet: she said that everyone in Hollywood is having a diet and ask about it but she thinks it not to be a healthy thinks and refrains from any type of diet schedule.

She’s a conscious consumer: Shailene start focusing that how her actions could affect her own health and also the planet’s after reading the book ‘Farm Sanctuary’. She changed her own purchasing habits after learning about indigenous cultures that the effect product on those people and their environment due to their diet. She tries to buy only bulk from farmer’s market after knowing about the amount of waste one produces. It inspired her to search for health by living minimally.

She knows how to indulge smart: even when she’s in a mood of junk food, she cares about her eating materials. She says that she buys candy and cookies without artificial ingredients and when she can, she substitutes them with fruits and vegetables. She said that few fruits and vegetables are also quite sweet like beets and raspberries so it’s easy to not eat junk food. She’d prefer plantain chips over potato chips when feel to eat chips.
