Junya Watanabe was born in Tokyo is popular fashion designer. He passed his graduation from Bunka fashion College in 1984 and then offered his service to Comme des Garcons as a pattern-cutter. He started designing Tricot line in 1987. He exhibited his debut solo collection in 1992as the Tokyo collection and after one year he showcased his collection at Paris Fashion Week. He started designing products under his own name but still continued his working in Comme des Garcons who helped him financially and produce his collection.

Watanabe still continued his manufacturing of his products standing apart from his mentor and friend with his own vision. He used technical and functional cloths and creating sense and humor of calm and femininity. This was exhibited at his autumn/winter collection 1999 where catwalk was done under continuous shower of water and it seemed that rain will splash off the clothes made by the Japanese company Toray who develop materials for extreme conditions.
Despite Watanabe displayed his creation in large number but his clothes give response to fundamental issues which is a suitable answer to conditions and lifestyles practically. The designed showed by Watanabe is an exercise in sensitivity through his delicate complex pattern cutting and his dressings are also presenting a unmatchable delicacy and decency.
Watanabe exhibited his first male collection in Paris in 2001, and now he is considered most remarkable fashion designers in fashion of Paris.
