For plus-size women, Torrid has long been a style destination. But the brand looks set to capture plenty of mainstream attention too, with its newest campaign. The Huffington Post reports that as the first-ever face of the brand, Torrid has named Australian model Georgina Burke. And Burke intends to use her platform to make a case for better representation of plus-size women in the industry, if her bold first statement is any indication.
Burke says that in America, there are 68% of women over size 12. Why they can’t be put in the magazine? She also asked that what is wrong in putting them at the face of magazine or other fashionable way and who says that they’re not so good?. With Burke’s unapologetic stance or any other move that makes fashion a more inclusive place, we couldn’t agree more.
