Ralph Lauren was born in 1939 in Jamaica. Now Jamaica has issued commemorative stamp in 2004 specifying Lauren as the man and logo of his brand of a polo player riding on a horse is appreciated by all. The brand Polo Ralph Lauren initiated his beginnings in 1968 by taking a loan of $50,000 and got popularity on foreign level for his lifestyle brand which everyone recognized today. Lauren was firstly extended his production from clothing to houseware and furniture. He was the first American designer who established shop in Europe in 1981 under the name of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and now it has 280 outlets running in the whole world and its stock is divided into various brands. This company also started a rugby store in Boston in October 2004, a lifestyle collection for the male and female having age from 18 to 25 years. The rugby line also combines with Lauren’s collection, Purple Label in 1994, Blue Label in 2002 and Black Label in 2005.

Lauren entered into fashion industry in 1964 with Brooks Brothers, and then Beau Brummell Neckwear in 1967, where he designed wide ties. The Polo menswear line was exhibited and in 1970 he won the Coty Menswear Award. Lauren also started working for female collection and inducted this collection to the brand in 1971.
He has been graced with the CFDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1993 along with its male collection designer in1995 and Female dress designer in1996 prizes. The Polo Ralph Foundation also makes preparations for campaigns like Pink Pony in2000 from which this brand supported cancer care and medically underserved communities.
