The schedule of ‘Fashion Week’ has just changed now. Now the fashion houses of Tom Ford and Burberry have announced their fashion shows that came on the same days with in-store deliveries while the consumer-facing model was introduced by Rebecca Minkoff just weeks ago.
From September of this year, Burberry will start the ‘seasonless’ collections on the runway. Annually, two such shows will be presented in which soon after the models walk on the ramp, their items will be available for purchase. Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey told that they were working from some time to close the gap through evolution in the shows. Now they are using the steps of ordering straight from the runway of live streams through social media campaigns while this creative process will evolve further. He said in a press release that Tom Ford is working hard to close the gap between retail and runway. Now in September 2016, the 2016 Fall menswear and womenswear collection will be available immediately for purchase soon after the show. He said that before the start of availability of collection, they spend lot of money and energy to stage an event in order to create excitement among the people. But if the collection is available at the stores at the time of collection then this excitement created by the event will really worth and the customers would like to purchase dresses and wear them.
Now it seems that the old style of Fashion Weeks across the globe will change soon due to the adoption of this new method by brads like Burberry and Tom Ford. Even before these brands, we have already seen the customer-facing shows for Fashion Weeks by the brands like Laquan Smith and Rebecca Minkoff. Now it is important to see that how much positive effect this new model will create on the sales of various brands.
