At a ceremony on 19th January 2014, Uruguay’s beauty queen and top model Johana Riva Garabetian has been crowned ‘Miss Universe Uruguay 2014’ reportedly.
At the end of the pageant that was held in Chihuahua at the Punta Del Este Arenas Hotel & Resort, Riva was announced the winner.
She is not new to beauty pageants, hailing from Montevideo and stands tall at 1.74m.
Romina Fernandez was the Vice queen of Miss Universe Uruguay 2014, while the first and second runner-ups were Cecilia Ortega and Lorena Rossi, respectively.
In Malaysia, Riva has even competed at the Miss Tourism International 2008 and was placed there in the Top 15. She also holds the crown of Miss Tourism Uruguay 2008.
At the Miss Atlantico International in 2010 in Uruguay, she also competed and there she was awarded ‘Miss Photogenic’.
As Micaela Orsi, last year’s winner of ‘Miss Universe Uruguay’, reportedly withdrew from the ‘Miss Universe 2013’ pageant due to lack of financial support. There are hopes that Riva will represent Uruguay in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant this year in Brazil.
