After a stint on 30 Rock as Jack Donaghy’s high school girlfriend revealed Julianne Moore was more than capable of playing people who have accents from interesting places like Boston, it makes sense now that she’d be chosen to play Sarah Palin in HBO Films’ adaptation of John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s book, Game Change. As a chronicle of John McCain’s campaign for the presidency in 2008, the book also covers what went into the process of selecting Palin as a running mate and provides insight as to what it was like for McCain to lose the general election to Obama. Surely Moore will do a killer portrayal of the Alaskan hockey mom’s mannerisms (one of which in the past has been cradling fish hearts in her hands), but she quite possibly might have to go back to TGS if she’s looking to get help in nailing that accent.
