John Richmond is British fashion designer and working with raring-to-rock and ready-to-wear. He was music loving designer having punk aesthetic talent of classic tailoring.
Richmond was born in 1961 and passed his graduation from Kingston Polytechnic in 1983 and stepped into fashion industry as free lance designer for Emporio Armani, Fiorucci and Joseph Tricot before setting up his own brand named as Richmond-Cornejo, a coordination with fashion designer Maria Cornejo in 1984.
In 1987 he left his own brand. During his whole professional period, Richmond was busy in dressing up celebrities such as Bryan Adams, David Bowie, Madonna and Mick Jagger, George Michael wore Richmond’s classic dresses in the video for ‘Faith’. The designs of John Richmond are quite suitable for the spirit of rock and the smell of leather.
Now his brand has three dressing lines like John Richmond, Richmond X and Richmond Denim along with sun glasses and underwear stock have been exhibited some times ago. He made a partner with Saverio Moschillo for smooth running of his business has given Richmond a global range of outlets, from Naples, Rome and Paris to Munich, Disseldorf and New York for his finished products. Their brand was responsible for manufacturing of leather biker jackets, oil printed T-shirts, acid orange pleated skirts and long line sweaters
