Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren both born in the same year, 1969 met with each other while studying at Arnhem’s Fashion Academy. They settled their minds to join forces after completing their graduation in 1992. They firstly won three awards at the 1993 at Hyeres Festivals for displaying their collection which show their preferences for sculptural, experimental clothes. After some time they joined the ranks of Le Cri Neerlandais, a collection of same mind young designers of Holland who were responsible for organizing two shows in Paris. Although Le Cri was disbanded but Viktor and Rolf carried on their working for producing stocks consisting of one in 1996 called ‘Viktor & Rolf on Strike’ that shows the less interest in their work from press and buyers.

They also arranged a toy-like miniature fashion show along with fake perfume bottle with an ad campaign. These miniatures were presented in the Amsterdam art gallery Torch in 1996 setting up as upstart designers with different agenda.

They reached on top of their career by making their introduction to Paris Couture in 1998 in which Viktor and Rolf dazzled their clients with their highly stunning collection on the basis of ever increasing volumes and shapes. They also arranged to translate their earlier spectacular couture designs into wearable yet bearable ground breaking pert-a-porter pieces which were exhibiting in their first ready to wear stock for autumn/winter 2000. Viktor and Rolf shows their dresses with addition of love of ribbons and perfectly cut smoking suits which make these suits must-see on the Paris prêt-a-porter schedule and also exhibited their perfume, Flowerbomb in 2004 and they are still living in Amsterdam and carried on their working for the fashion industry
