If than white opera gloves there’s an accessory more ladylike, it’s a chic hat really. Alber Elbaz doubled down for fall 2014, hip to that fact. The tone was set for a whimsical collection by opening Lanvin with a plumed black cap that seemed to explode into a coordinated jacket.

And in feminism, pretty extras weren’t the only feats. The fantasies made reality by Lanvin are pleated leather dresses and a flowing pink gown. The models’ figures are played up by textural curve-hugging silhouettes and with layers of extra fabric strategically placed along seams are also enhancing them. Julia Roberts’ signature red mane fans now need to brace themselves. Hollywood’s favorite redhead has bleached her mane a rather fabulous shade of platinum and caught the blonde bug. E! Is Sharing Nail Polish Really That Gross?

Sharing is part of life. But for beauty products, sampling from makeup bags of our friends’ can sometimes inspire pink eye, bacterial cross contamination and other nasty infections. We wondered about the rules for sharing nail polish that whether it also put us at risk for infection passing, while a hygienic approach to makeup may require closely guided mascara wands. To know whether nail polishes are breeding ground for bacteria, we talked with Dr. Chris Adigun of New York University Langone Medical Center and those dermatologists who specializes in nail disorder. Recently, while preparing for a fitness-themed shoot with beauty extraordinaire Bethany Brill, we were caught off-guard when the hairstylist mentioned casually that gym hair and wedding hair have become almost one and the same, in recent years. We’re ended up with the best tutorial ever for getting undone hair that still looks well-done, after we asked Brill to explain exactly what she meant.
